In every campaign I played since Norsca got added, everything north of Altdorf in is overun by Norsca, long before Chaos arives. In my one DE campaign after winning over the HE and conquering all of Ulthuan, I was eager to invade the old world only to find nothing but Vampire counts with 64 settlements. I also don't use mods so this is just the game doing its own thing too. It's pretty much always been like this with the game, depending on which race you are and how much you do or don't help/war with the other factions will effect how the world plays out, and it's almost never followed identical patterns for me. They're having trouble with it though so it's just an epic stalemate.
Kislev is actually moving up into Norscan territory and so are Clan Moulder who seem to have entered an unofficial unholy alliance with them. In my current Dwarfs (Karak Kadrin) campaign the Empire and Kislev are faring quite well but Bretonnia is getting wiped again. My late game fights with Empire were all up in Norsca, it was very odd. In my Orcs campaign Kislev and the Empire got completely leveled flat by Wintertooth but in a weird twist the Empire faction had moved into Norsca, and eventually wiped out all of Norsca and lived up in the snow while the Vampires and Dwarfs fought over the original Empire lands. In my Elves campaign Wulfric wiped out all of Bretonnia and was moving in on the Wood Elves while completely ignoring the Empire which flourished. the only mortal armies that tend to give me some trouble is the Dwarven armies but we all know how strong they are.Īs with everything it's kinda been a mixed bag with my campaigns as to how it plays out, a lot of it has to do with what race you pick to play as from what I've seen. I take less losses from fighting the Empire's units on the field myself than when i auto resolve it.

Even against large units like monsters, the spearmen are almost useless against a full assault without support.Īs Chaos or Norsca if i see an Empire/mortal army coming to attack me or if they've wandered out too far from the safety of their capitals, i know i'm in for an easy win because my units are just far, far superior compared to theirs. That will probably explain why they get ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ by superior Chaos/Norsca infantry/monsters.
I've noticed that the Empire/mortal AI tends to spam a lot of basic infantry units, swordsmen, spearmen and the like without many support units like artillery, cavalry, good missile units and more. Even with the Greatswords on your front lines, it's only a matter of time until they break. And what i mean when i say they don't "fare" well against them, i mean they get ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ destroyed if they engage in melee with them. not "fare" too well against Chaos/Norscan infantry and monster units. In all seriousness, remember that the Empire's melee units do have a tendancy to well.
